Irene Blanche Peck (Million)

Irene B. (Peck) Million

April 3, 1918 - Sept. 22, 2008
SOUTH BEND - On September 22, 2008, this world truly Lost an Angel!
Irene B. "Renie" Million began her wonderful life of 90 years on April 3, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Blanche Peck. On September 4, 1937, Irene Blanche Peck married the true love of her
life, the late Robert E. Million Sr., with whom she enjoyed a wonderful and loving 58 years as they lived and continued to have the kind of love most of us only dream about. For those of us who were lucky enough to have known her either as a son, daughter, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother friend, our lives were richer for having known her and for having the pleasure of having her in our lives and being touched by the loving, kind, compassionate person that she was.

She leaves behind three children whose lives will never be the same without her, Robert (Jan) Million Jr. of Sarasota, FL, Barbara (Jimmie) Force and Jeffrey (Janet) Million, both of South Bend. She leaves behind two sisters who she loved very much, Betty Deo of Mishawaka and Lurlene Whiting of Angola, IN.

Two sisters who preceded her were Dorothy Nowacki and Erma Hewson. Irene had three brothers who also preceded her, Delbert Peck, Clarence Peck and James Peck.

The 10 grandchildren who loved her and will miss her are Julie (Robert) Richardson, Mike Million, Christopher Lyle, Michelle Lyle, Matthew Lyle, Nichole Nekvasil, Mark (Sara) Million, Scott Million, Katie Million and Sean Million. The eight great-grandchildren who also loved and will miss her are Alexis Richardson, Jacob Lyle, Lizzie Lyle, Brittany Lyle, Destiny Lyle, Jerry Bullard, Makayla Lyle, Brody Million and Jake Million. Ron and Audrey Grzeskowiak and Linda and Tom Michalski, who have not only been great neighbors but great friends, will miss her loving spirit.

Very special thanks from the bottom of our hearts to Julie Shadinger from Comfort Keepers who became so much more than a caregiver but more importantly a very special and cherished friend. The family would like to also thank friends and family for their prayers and for the meals prepared during Irene's illness and for their love and support over the years. A special thank you is also extended to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care who made the final weeks so much easier for the family to let her die with the dignity and grace that she so richly deserved.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N.
William St., with Chaplain Rob Ercoline of hospice officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept .24th, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. Family and friends may leave e-mail condolences at welshfh@yahoo.com .
