MISHAWAKA - Mary C. Stevens, 70, of Miller's Merry Manor, Logansport, and formerly of Mishawaka, died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday in the nursing home. Mrs. Stevens retired from Memorial Hospital, Logansport, where she had been employed as a switchboard operator and admitting clerk.
She was born April 9, 1924 in Mishawaka. In 1946, in South Bend, she married Samuel Eugene Coates. He died in 1972. On Sept. 29, 1972 in Plymouth, she married Theodore Stevens. He died Nov. 13, 1984. Surviving are five daughters, Terry Cynawae of Indianapolis, Ruth Ann Hess, Eva DeHaven, Lynn Norzinskay and Lavina Samuels, all of Logansport; two sons, Fred E. of Garland, Texas, and James M. of Decatur; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Logansport.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Kroeger Funeral Home, Logansport. Private burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Kroeger Funeral Home, Logansport. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
