John L. St. Clair

John L. St. Clair, 67, of Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, formerly of 1906 Bergan St., died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in the nursing home. Mr. St. Clair retired in 1986 from Manufacturing Technology Inc. as a tool and die designer and was a former employee of Adams Engineering. He was born March 15, 1927, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On Sept. 2, 1950, in South Bend, he married Jackie Ott. She died in 1972. He is survived by a daughter, Mary St. Clair of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four sons, Phillip, James, Thomas, and John D., all of South Bend; five grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Werntz of Cassopolis. A son, Jerry, died in 1964.

He was a graduate of Central High School and Acme Institute and was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
