Virginia (Palmiter) Cleppe

MISHAWAKA - Virginia Cleppe, 88, departed this life on Thanksgiving, Nov. 27. The family will forever give thanks on that day for ending her suffering. She was born on Aug. 18, 1926, to Venda and Dale Palmiter. On Aug. 21, 1947, she married George Cleppe. She is probably best remembered as the manager of the Colfax Theater for 17 years. In 1976 she established and was the owner of the Enchanted Cottage Bridal Shop.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Barb Demetz (Don) and Sue O'Connor (Terry). The joys of her life were her three grandchildren, Courtney Champlin (Steve), Katie Kowals (Matt) and Kaylie Demetz. She has five great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Maya Wright, Wilson Wright, and Eliza Jane Wright, Michael Champlin and Matthew Champlin. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Williams.

Cremation has taken place with interment at a later date at St. Joe Cemetery. In respect of her wishes, there will not be a service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
