Francis X. "Bud" Luzny

Francis X. "Bud" Luzny, 75, of West Sample Street, passed away at 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 6, 1927, in South Bend, Ind., to Henry J. and Julia A. (Szymanowski) Luzny, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Henry J. Luzny Jr.

Francis graduated from Central Senior High School.

He was in the Navy during World War II, serving aboard the USS Cross. Francis worked at Studebaker and later was a steel fabricator with Stanley Enterprises. He was a member of St. Hedwig Parish. He is survived by two sisters, Ann Marie (Daniel) Zane and Justine "June" Kucharski, both of South Bend; and by nine nieces and two nephews. 

Friends and family may call from 2 and 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 18, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be in St. Hedwig Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Hedwig Building Fund.
