SOUTH BEND - Elizabeth "Betty" A. Crosiar, 82, of South Bend, IN passed away at 10:32 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born on January 3, 1927 in South Bend, IN to John and Bertha (Peltz) Horning.

On March 22, 1946 in South Bend, IN she married Frank Crosiar, who passed away on January 20, 1998 after fifty-two years of marriage.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Marcia L. Crosiar of South Bend, IN and Kathleen L. (Wayne) Pulliam of Mishawaka, IN; son, Christopher J. Crosiar of South Bend, IN; three grandchildren, Lisa (Jeff) Overmyer of South Bend, IN, Tiffany A. Broadway of West Hills, CA and Leah Crosiar of Elkhart, IN; three great great grandchildren, Heather (Scott) Banke of South Bend, IN, J.D. Overmyer of South Bend, IN and Bailey Overmyer of South Bend, IN and one great great granddaughter on the way, Baby Layla; sister, Mary Mrozek of Dallas, TX; two brothers, Robert Keene of Mishawaka, IN and Don Horning of South Bend, IN and two sisters-in-law, Jane Horning of South Bend, IN and Anna Horning of Osceola, IN. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and their families.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; beloved sister, Mary Fields; brothers, James Keene, John Horning, Jim Horning; sisters-in-law, Ag Keene and Irene Horning. Betty was 1945 graduate of Central High School, South Bend.

She was very active in her sorority, Delta Theta Tau, for many years. Betty formerly participated with the volleyball program for parents at Lincoln School, winning many championships. She loved animals and was a mother to everyone who knew her, never meeting a stranger.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend. Andy Kaser will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family one-hour prior to the services.
