Margaret "Peg" Bernice (Carlson) Webster Berger
Aug. 3, 1926 - Dec. 2, 2001 Margaret Bernice (Carlson) Webster Berger, 75, of Belleair Bluffs, Fla., passed away of natural causes on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001.
Margaret "Peg" is survived by her husband, Harold "Bud" Berger. Peg was a longtime resident of South Bend, Ind., before moving to Belleair Bluffs in 1987. Peg was born in South Bend on Aug. 3, 1926, to Ruth Lillian (Bergman) and Cunning Adolph Carlson. Peg was married on Oct. 19, 1946, to Billy Martin Webster, who preceded her in death in 1981.
She is survived by their three daughters, Deborah (Gary) Nelson of Manhattan Beach, Calif., Margaret "Peggy" Webster of Mishawaka, Ind., and Carrie (Gary) King of Brownsburg, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Douglas Mellinger of San Diego, Calif., Darcy Mellinger of Chicago, Ill., Jason Thibault of Los Angeles, Calif., Megan Thibault of Los Angeles, Billie King, Gary King and Jeffrey King, all of Brownsburg; seven siblings, Mrs. Ruth Moore, Mrs. Gertrude Tuesley, Mrs. Irene Crone, Mrs. Evelyn Brandley, Mrs. Pauline Pickenpack, Mrs: Joann Mays and Mrs. Beverly Chachulski.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Gustav Carlson; and by a sister, Mrs. June Nawrot.
In 1986 Peg was married to Bud Berger, who survives. She is also survived by four of his children, Kathleen Itle of North East, Pa., Connie McCahill of Granger, Ind., James Berger of South Bend and Patti Hill of South Bend; and .by seven step-grandchildren. Peg was active in the South. Bend chapter of the Ladies of the Elks. She was a loving wife and mother, and adored her grandchildren.
She loved to cook and bake and made spectacular Christmas cookies by the dozens. Peg's funloving spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
Remembrance will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, Ironwood Drive, South Bend. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7th, in the Evangelical Covenant Church, Edison Road, South Bend, with burial service immediately following at the Riverview Cemetery in South Bend
