Ruth Wolf Briscoe

Ruth (Remble) Briscoe, 90, of South Bend, died Saturday morning February 1, 2014 at Fountianview Golden Living Center.

She was born September 19, 1923 to William and Ella (Priebe) Wolf.

On January 25, 1947, she married James Remble, who died in 1985. In 1991 she married James W. Briscoe, who died in 2012.

She is survived by sons, Jerry Remble of South Bend and Jeff Remble (Debbie) of Granger and her step daughter Marjie Snow (Rick) of Lafayette, IN. She leaves behind her loving grandchildren Jason, Jeremy, Amber, Aaron, Adam, A.J., and Ian Richards, great-grandchildren; River, Brodie, Schyler, Addison, and Sadie. Ruth was also preceded in death by a son, John Remble and sister, Betty Wald.

Ruth retired from Memorial Hospital from the H R department after 25 years of service in 1987. She was a literacy volunteer, and also volunteered for Red Cross and Hospice. Ruth was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading and traveling and interior decorating. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday February 4, 2014 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Rev. Gregory Feichtner officiating.

As her wishes, cremation will take place.
