James F. Huffine

BROOKVILLE- James F. Huffine, 70, Hidden Valley, Brookville, died Saturday, Aug. 29 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Ill. He was a retired jeweler and operated the Huffine Jewelry Store in Brookville and Hahns Jewelry Store in Liberty.

He was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Brookville and was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 77 of Brookville and life member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2014 of Brookville. He was also a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was a retired member of the Brookville Volunteer Fire Department and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 1129, a member and past master of Harmony Lodge 11 F&AM a member of the Whitewater Shrine Club and the Order of Eastern Star #449.

Survivors include: his wife, Ruby I Huffine; two daughter, Debra Stang of Brookville and Peggy S. Meyer of Eagle River, Alaska; five grandchildren; one sister, Ardele Bloomquist of San Diego, Ca.; and two brothers, William Huffine of Las Vegas, Nev. and Richard Huffine of Los Angeles, Ca.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3 at the Cook Funeral Home in Brookville with the Rev. Paul Dotson and C. J. Dotson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery where there will be graveside military services by the American Legion. Visitation will be prior to the service at noon Thursday, Sept. 3 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Brookville Volunteer Fire Department or the Brookville EMS
