Gloria Irene (Stanton) McClain

July 29, 1921 - July 17, 2003

Gloria Irene McClain, 81, residing on Berlin Avenue, Mishawaka, IN passed away at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2003 in her home. She was born on July 29, 1921 in South Bend, IN to Merle and Sadie (Reedge) Stanton and was a lifetime resident.

On April 12, 1941 in South Bend, N she married William E. McClain, who survives. Along with her husband, William E. McClain of Mishawaka, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Janice McClain of Mishawaka; two grandsons, William R. McClain and Steve M. McClain; one sister, Martha Mitchell of Verde, AZ; and two brothers, Ned Stanton of South Bend and Ted Stanton of Elkhart. Two brothers, Eldon Stanton and Dean Stanton preceded her in death. Mrs. McClain was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 4360 and was a graduate of Central High School, South Bend.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN. There will be no services and cremation will take place. Contributions In memory of Gloria I. McClain may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
