Wilford M. "Orkey" Orcutt

Wilford Mac "Orkey" Orcutt, 82, of New Road, North Liberty, Ind., passed away at 1 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, in his home after a battle with cancer. Mr. Orcutt was born on Jan. 31, 1921, in Denver, Colo., to the late Orville and Sarah (Harmon) Orcutt.

On June 23, 1947, in South Bend, Ind., he married the former Marian Walters. Mr. Orcutt is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marian; one daughter, Janet Orcutt of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sons, Mac W. and his wife, Anne Orcutt, of St. Louis, Mo., and Michael and his fiancée, Kathy Kimmel, of Wolcottville, Ind. Also surviving is Steven Kimmel of Wolcottville, who was like a grandson to him.

Orkey has been a resident of the area most of his life. He graduated from Central High School and served his country during World War II in the Navy. He was a retired carpenter for the South Bend School Corporation. 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville, Ind. Rev. Karl Brenner will officiate. Cremation will follow. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 1, in Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637.
