Lawrence ( Larry) Haverstock. 60, of 2137 Parkview PL, died at 6:05 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He retired in 1972, after 32 years as chief manufacturing engineer at the Torrington Co. Born July 14, 1920, in LaPorte, he lived in the area his lifetime.

On Nov. 8, 1946, in South Bend, be married Peggy Boyack, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lee (Sandra) Erhardt of Clinton, NJ.; one grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Richard (Harriet) Kited of Germantown, Tenn.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II and a member of South Bend 294 F&AM.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William, with Rev. Donald I. Kaufman, pastor of the Zion United Church of Christ officiating. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at We Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William. Cremation will be at the Michiana Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the Retinitis Pigmentosa Foundation 8331 Mindale Circle, Baltimore, MD, 21207.
