James Alexander Szucs, 86 years old, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away the evening of Thursday, August 10, 2023 in his home. He was born on October 17, 1936 in South Bend to the late Alex and Elizabeth (Pinter) Szucs. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie, and brother Jack Szucs.

James is survived by daughters Dawn Fluharty and Kim Szucs, grandchildren Samantha (Uli) and Chase, sisters Eileen Howton and Charlotte Taber, and many beloved pets.

James worked as a union sheet metal worker for fifty years and was well respected in his field. He was also an army veteran and was involved in the Free Masonry. In his free time, he enjoyed doing yard work and tinkering with wood and metals. James will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

No services are scheduled at this time. Hahn Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation.

Jim was a beloved brother, husband, dad and grandad. He was dedicated to his lovely wife Marjorie who passed away in 2019. A brother to Jack L Szucs (class of 1957) and sister-in-law Beverly who I am sure were ready to great Jim with open arms in Heaven, along with other family members who have passed on. Jim served our country in the Army stationed in Munich, Germany for 2 yrs. He worked as a union sheet metal worker for fifty years, a good portion of his career as an employee of Troeger Sheet Metal of South Bend. Jim enjoyed life with his family and loved tinkering around his property and helping others.
