Daniel L. ODonnell

Daniel L. O'Donnell, 60, of Terre Haute, Ind., formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness on Monday, Jan. 12, in Columbia Regional Hospital, Terre Haute.

Mr. O'Donnell was bom on July 30, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, and had lived in Terre Haute since July 1997, coming from Simi Valley, Calif. He was involved as an insurance claims coordinator since 1962, most recently with Chubb Group & Son.

On June 16, 1979, in Danville, Ind., he married Wanda L. Norman, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Peggy Cox of Indianapolis, Ind., Patty Hoover of Middlebury, Ind., and Kathy Borowicz of Stephen, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Brenda Thomason of Indianapolis; a stepson, Bradley Spear of Burnsville, Minn.; eight grandchildren; a sister, Sue Slater of Nappanee, Ind.; and by a brother, Larry (Mickey) O'Donnell of Los Angeles, Calif.

Mr. O'Donnell was a peacetime Army veteran. He was a member of the 1953 South Bend Central High School State Basketball Championship Team, and was signed by the Chicago White Sox, where he played for their minor league team prior to entering into the service.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. (EST) on Sunday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 Bendix Drive, with Rev. Mary Hubbard officiating. Cremation rites will follow. Friends may call from 2 to 3:45 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.
