Carlos M. Mayes

Carlos Marion Mayes, 67, of North Las Vegas, Nev., died Wednesday, March 5, in Lake Mead Hospital Medical Center. He was born on June 4, 1935, in Mounds, Ind. He was a retired supervisor and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force seeing action in both Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Tommy J. Stanton Elks Lodge #1735 and Zion Chapel Outreach Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Mayes of North Las Vegas; 10 daughters, Pamela Davis, Tamera Washington, Rochelle Phelps, Cynthia Martin and Renila Duperme, all of North Las Vegas, Sonya Manning of Fort Worth, Texas, Carla Sauls of San Antonio, Texas, Janice Cannon of St. Louis, Mo., and Bridgette Robinson and Venita Dixon, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; three sons, Daryl Mayes of Chicago, Ill., Billy McGee of Las Vegas and Romelo Mayes of North Las Vegas; three sisters, Bernice Kelly and Joyce Davenport, both of Flint, Mich., and Ophelia Morrell of South Bend; 23 grandchildren and by 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, in Palm Mortuary-Downtown, Las Vegas.
