ERVIN "JOHN" MALEC

SOUTH BEND - Ervin "JOHN" Malec was born in South Bend, Indiana, on July 28, 1931. John passed away September 12, 2011, in Hospice House, South Bend.

He graduated from Central High in 1950.

His wife, Jeannine Malec, and four stepchildren survive John: Noel Andrew Garing, Ross Garing (Rita) and Dan Garing (Susan), all from the South Bend, Mishawaka area, and Linda Garing Kamp (Dennis) from New Carlisle, Indiana. Eight grand children also survive: Danielle Smith, Kristin Stanley, Michael Wilhelm, Andrew Garing, Amy Mangus, Rosalynn Sherk, Cory Garing and Shelby Garing. There are eight great-grandchildren.

John was Vice President and Partner at Bertrand Products until 1986. He then became plant manager for Kessington Machine, Elkhart, Indiana, and didn't retire from Kessington until he became ill in January 2011.

He served in the U.S Navy after graduation.

Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of South Bend, Indiana.
