Donna R. (Derucki) Jackson

Oct. 16, 1932 - March 2, 2005

Donna R. Jackson, 72, of Garden Lane in South Bend, IN, passed away following an illness at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was born on October 16, 1932, to the late John S. and Cecelia C. (Kubacki) Derucki in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident.

Along with her parents, one sister, Florence Watkins, and one brother, Stanley Derucki, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Jackson retired in June 1992 as medical secretary for Charles Baran, M.D., where she worked for 40 years.

On November 23, 1957, as Donna R. Derucki, she married Ward A. Jackson in South Bend, IN. He died on November 24, 1992. She is survived by her son, Mark A. Jackson of South Bend, IN; three sisters, Irene Kazmierczak of South Bend, IN, Dolores Derucki of South Bend, IN, and Rita M. Bicek of Michigan City, IN; and two brothers, Raymond E. (wife Rita J.) Derucki, Sr. of South Bend, IN, and John S. (wife Linda) Derucki of Fremont, OH.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Handy-Andy Club, and volunteered at Saint Joseph Care Center-West. She graduated from Central High School, where she served as the treasurer of her class.

There will be no visitation. According to her wishes, her body will be donated to the Anatomical Education program of the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN. A memorial Mass will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005, in Holy Family Catholic Church, with Rev. Bernard Galic officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
