Juanita J. (Koehler) Pawlak

SOUTH BEND — Juanita J. Pawlak, 82, formerly of South Bend and of Somerset, NJ, passed away December 7, 2012, in the home of her daughter, Vickie Bartizal, Somerset, New Jersey. Juanita was born June 28, 1930, in Niles, MI, to the late Fred and Victoria Koehler.

On Feb.18, 1950, she married Robert J. Pawlak.Juanita and Bob raised their four children in South Bend and retired to Punta Gorda, Florida, where they enjoyed more than 20 years of their dream life, sailing, camping and traveling across the U.S.and Canada to visit their children and grandchildren. Following Bob’s death, Juanita moved to New Jersey to live with her daughter, Vickie. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents, Fred and Victoria Koehler, and by her only brother, David Koehler.

Juanita’s surviving family include a son, Jim Pawlak (Judy Pekelsma), Capitan, New Mexico; daughters, Vickie Bartizal, Somerset, New Jersey, Rosemary Pawlak, Cochrane, Alberta, Canada, and Jean Pawlak (Kolin Hodgson), South Bend, Indiana. Juanita is also survived by eight grandchildren, Charlotte and Simon Pawlak, Christopher and Angela Bartizal, Sarah and Jared Megee, and Benjamin and Amelia Hodgson
