Terry Love Sr.

Terry Love Sr., of South Bend, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on August 12, 1950, in South Bend, Indiana, Terry was a lifelong resident of the city he adored. His final days were spent surrounded by the love and care of his family.

Terry was the beloved son of the late Leroy and Cora (Wilson) Love. He grew up in a bustling household alongside his siblings, Gail (Wayman) Husband, Beverly (Raymond) Holt, Sharon (Wayne) Clark, Charles Love, and the late Johnny Love, Ollie Mae Exum, Shirley Jean Sizemore, Leroy Love Jr. and  brother-in-law to Don Sizemore. Sister-in-law Georgiana. Love His formative years were filled with the warmth and guidance of a close-knit family, which laid the foundation for the man he would become.

A proud graduate of South Bend Central high school, Terry went on to serve his country with honor as a veteran of the U.S. Army. His dedication to service was a testament to his character, and it was this same spirit of commitment that he brought to his professional life. Terry was a respected business owner and general contractor, where he worked hard throughout South Bend in plumbing, mechanics, and general labor.

Terry's hands were skilled, but it was his heart that truly defined him. He was a selfless man, always ready to lend a hand or share his knowledge with others. His ability to fix anything was matched only by his desire to help everyone. Terry's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and an unwavering willingness to go above and beyond for his family and friends.

Family was the cornerstone of Terry's life. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Tina (Brian) Love-Denson, Tiffany (Travis) Love-Tucker, and Terena Love, and to his sons, Terry Love Jr. and Torrence (Rachel) Page. Terry instilled in his children the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. Terry was also blessed with 16 grandchildren.

Terry's memory will be lovingly remembered by his surviving sisters, Gail, Beverly, and Sharon, and his brother, Charles. His presence will be deeply missed, but the impact of his love and teachings will continue to resonate with all who knew him.

Memorial services celebrating Terry’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 at Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West South Bend, IN 46628. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
