Sharon Sue (Harris) Wiseley

July 26, 1951 ~ December 19, 2023 (age 72)

Sharon Wiseley, 72, passed away on December 19, 2023, from a respiratory illness, at her home in Durham, North Carolina

She was born Sharon Sue Harris on July 26, 1951 in South Bend, Indiana to Joseph C. and Johnnie B. (Walker) Harris.

Sharon attended Linden Elementary School and was a 1969 graduate of South Bend Central High School, where she excelled as a cheerleader. She attended Kishwaukee College in Illinois.

She worked at First Source Bank in South Bend, and at other business and clerical work.

In 1979 she married Bert Wiseley, who passed away in 1996. Sharon was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jonathan Harris, as well as her nephew Christopher Dwyer. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her loving and faithful daughter, Salena Smith of Durham, North Carolina, her devoted sisters Deborah (Lawrence) Dwyer and Brenda Bradley of South Bend, and her dear aunt Doris (Harris) Leach of Chicago, Illinois. Her nephew, Wesley (Tanisha) Harris, and nieces Jennifer Bradley, Cynthia (Eddie West) Guest, and Elizabeth (Demis) Courquet-Lesaulnier also remain, along with many other cousins and extended family members.

In Durham Sharon worked in service to the community in the End Hunger Durham program and also the Golden Life Partnership. She was a faithful member of Community Fellowship International Church and devoted herself to service in the church. Pastor André Gorham stated that Sharon was “a bright shining light, characterized by an infectious smile.”
