George O. Singer, 44, of Corapolis, Pa., died at 1 a.m. in the Sewickley Valley Hospital, Sewickley, Pa., after a lengthy illness. He was president of the Custom Fluid Equipment Co., Imperial, Pa. Born on Sept. 2, 1935, in Pittsburgh, Pa., he had lived in the South Bend area for several years.
On Sept. 3, 1955, in South Bend, he married Vel Rae Smith, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Mark Thomas and Michael James, both at home, and a brother, Thomas Howard of South Bend.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William. Rev. Henry Weber, pastor of St. Paul's Memorial United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
He was graduated from South Bend Central High School and had attended Indiana University.
