Sandra Ann (Sweet) Lowe
Sandra Ann Lowe of Sun City Peachtree in Griffin, GA passed away peacefully December 11, 2023.
Sandy was born April 17, 1942 in South Bend, IN to Geneva & Richard Sweet who preceded her in death. Sandy was an active traveler and enjoyed joining her husband Jim on work trips along with taking trips with family and friends around the United States and overseas. Her passion was her family and she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them - especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
After marrying Jim in December 1962, Sandy proudly served as a US Marine officer's wife while Jim fought in Vietnam. After the military, Sandy and Jim moved to Allen Park, MI and then Naperville, IL where she worked various jobs while raising her three children. Later, Sandy and Jim moved to Peachtree City, GA where they lived for 20 years before moving to Sun City Peachtree in Griffin, GA in 2011.
Sandy is survived by her five sisters Karen "Cookie" Waggoner, Janice Owens, , Becky Van Huffle, Sue Goldstein, Myra Eisenhart, daughter Jennifer Lopez (husband Gil) son James "Dasher" Lowe III (wife Maria) and son R. Andrew Lowe (wife Kellye). She is also survived by her six grandchildren Tara (husband Timothy), Vince (wife Jorie), Jake, Ava, Faith and Vivian, and three great grandchildren Luna, Thady and Lily Ann.
Sandy will be laid to rest alongside her husband Jim at Georgia National Cemetery on January 12th @ 11:30 am. A celebration of life will take place in her hometown of South Bend, Indiana in April. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Toys for Tots (www.toysfortots.org).
