Andre Leon Johnson

Mr. Andre Leon Johnson, 66, who resided on North Walnut Street, South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 9, 2006, in Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Indiana. Andre was born on January 22, 1940, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Celover and Willa Mae Johnson, who both preceded him in death. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in October 1978 after serving his country 20 years, and had fought in the Korean War.Coming from Columbus, Georgia, in 1987, he moved to South Bend.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Linda Curry on July 10, 1987, in Lafayette, Alabama. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as an usher, evangelist ministry, men’s ministry and was a student of the Bible Institute.

Andre is survived by his loving wife, Linda Johnson of South Bend, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr.Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Celover and Willa Mae Johnson;a brother, Celover Johnson Jr.; and by a sister, Barbara Johnson.

Funeral services for Mr. Andre Leon Johnson will be held at noon on Thursday, April 13, in Faith Baptist Church, with burial following at Riverview Cemetery.Visitation will be one hour prior to the services in the church.
