Michael Anthony Cytacki

Michael "Mike" Anthony Cytacki

January 28, 1945 ~ November 28, 2025 (age 80)

Michael A. Cytacki, known affectionately to friends and family as Mike, passed away peacefully in his hometown of South Bend, IN, on November 28, 2025, at the age of 80. Born to Anthony and Adeline (Slomski) Cytacki on January 28, 1945, Mike's life was a testament to love, service, and the enduring strength of family.

Mike's earliest days were spent in South Bend, where he attended South Bend Central High School, graduating with the class of 1963. Shortly thereafter, he dutifully served his country in the United States Army. Upon returning home, he embarked on a longstanding career with AT&T as a communication engineer and technician, a role in which his knack for problem-solving and hard work flourished.

Love found Mike when he married Judith (Magdalinski) Cytacki on November 13, 1971, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. Their blessed union spanned nearly five decades until Judith's passing in April 2021. Together, they raised a family of love and legacy: daughters Charlene (Scott) Weber and Lynette (Paul) Kovacs, and son Jason (Haley) Cytacki. Mike was a cherished grandfather to Devin, Chole, Arlo, Sawyer, and Rosa, who each brought immense joy and light into his life.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his dear wife, Judith; sister, Marlene Cytacki; and brother, James Cytacki. Those who knew him will remember a man who, above all, cherished moments with his grandchildren, whose eyes would light up with every visit and hug. His hands, skilled and steady, spent countless hours tending to plants, flowers, and the family’s landscaping. He took great pride in his yard, creating a sanctuary that welcomed friends and neighbors alike.

His loyal Shetland sheepdog, Daisy, was more than a pet; she was a companion and a source of comfort and joy, steadfastly at his side through many of life’s chapters. Mike was known for the breadth of his kindness; he was a neighbor and friend who would offer assistance with unwavering grace and care.

A time to visit with the family will be on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, from 3-7 p.m at Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN 46614. Military honors will take place during the visitation starting at 3:50 p.m. and a Catholic Rosary will be recited directly after the military honors.
