Esaw Parker, Sr.

April 27, 1936 ~ May 1, 2025

 

Esaw Parker Sr, 89, of South Bend, Indiana passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, surrounded by his Loving family.  Born on April 27, 1936, to James and Elizabeth (Spivey) Parker, in Henning, Tennessee.  Esaw, who was affectionately known as "Daddy and "Grandpa" was a proud Veteran, dedicating 25 years of service to the United States Air Force, where he exemplified Honor, Commitment and unwavering dedication to his country. Following his illustrious Military career, he embarked on a second career with Bendix, where he continued to exemplify leadership and commitment.  His legacy of love and kindness will be remembered by a host of family, friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Esaw loved to travel seeking new horizons and experiences that broadened his understanding of the world. A man of simple pleasures, he adored playing the lottery, engaging it with hope and a smile each time he played. His laughter was a melody that resonated with the joy of living and his advice was a compass for those seeking direction. A man whose presence was both a comfort and an inspiration.

Esaw is survived by his devoted second wife; Sang Parker.  SIBLINGS: Dora Morrow of Springfield, MA, Alice Russell of Woodbridge, VA and sister-in-law, Delores Parker of South Bend, IN.  his CHILDREN: Esaw Parker Jr, Paula Cannady (Eric), Angela Tribble (Calvin), and Marcus Parker, (Kim), Douglas Billups, and his Stepchildren; Curtis Bell (Stephanie) and Juanita Bell.  Esaw's lineage continues through his GRANDCHILDREN:  Adeyam Esaw Parker, (Kris), Glen Austin Crawford, Erica Marie Cannady, Brycen Parker, Marcus Landon Parker, and Juan Parker and step Grandchildren: Jordan Bell and Miles Bell.  His great-grandchildren, Maya and Isaiah Parker, who will grow up hearing tales of their great-grandfather's love and wisdom.  

Preceding him in death are PARENTS: James and Elizabeth Parker, Beloved first wife, Belle Marie Parker, whose memory remained close to his heart and daughter Vivian Lynn. SIBLINGS: Louise Bates, Betty Spears, Ruthie Mai Mincy, Reuben Parker & Ulues Parker. 

As we bid farewell to Esaw Parker. Sr., we are reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the FAITH.  We are comforted by the knowledge that Esaw's journey continues beyond the veil, in a place where there is no pain or suffering, only peace and joy everlasting. His story does not end with his passing, for his spirit lives on through the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the adventures and travels he inspired.

Visitation for Esaw will be held from 10am-11am on Saturday May 10, 2025, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend.  A funeral service will begin at 11am and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend with military honors being rendered at the graveside.
