Barbara Mary Overmyer, 67, residing in Mishawaka, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 5, 1947 in South Bend to Sylvester and Edna M. (Kitt) Michalski and remained a lifelong area resident.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Duane) Wunder of South Bend; son, Scott (Holly) Overmyer of Ft. Wayne; grandchildren, Holly, Derek, Heather, Chelsea, Shannon, Chemain, Dale, Davielle, David and Nathan; her mother, Edna Michalski of South Bend; and her brother, James (Mary) Michalski, also of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her father.
Barbara retired as a pharmacy technician at Walmart in 2011. She was a member of American Legion Post #357 Women’s Auxillary.
Memorial services for Barbara will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 26, 2014 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Ennichment will take place at Southlawn Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2014 in the funeral home as well as one hour prior to services on Friday.
