Genevieve E. (Fisher) Jackson

Genevieve E. Jackson, 77, of 1817 S. Marine St., died at 8:21 p.m. Tuesday in Osteopathic Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born on Oct. 6, 1906, in Attica, Ind., and had lived in the South Bend area most of her life.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Barber of South Bend and Mrs. Elizabeth Maley of Pontiac, Mich.; eight grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and a brother, Cornelius Potter of New Richmond, Ind.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan, with Rev. David Harrold, pastor of Faith United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, of which she was a member.

She retired in 1972 as a schoolteacher in the South Bend Community School Corp. She was a 1923 graduate of South Bend Central High School, and a graduate of Oberlin (Ohio) College.
