Glendoria “Polly” (Teague) Doxie

Feb. 25, 1950 – March 9, 2003

Glendoria “Polly” Doxie, 53, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, passed from this life on Sunday, March 9, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind.

Glendoria was born Feb. 25, 1950, in South Bend, Ind., to Helen Lewis and Willie Teague. Glendoria’s father, Willie Teague, preceded her in death.

Glendoria attended South Bend Central High School and finished her formal schooling at Kennedy King College in Chicago, Ill. Eight years ago Glendoria moved to Indianapolis.

Mrs. Doxie leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Michael Chatman, Sam Perry and Terrance Dockery, all of Indianapolis; four grandchildren; her mother, Helen Lewis of East St. Louis, Ill.; 11 sisters, Marie (Lawrence) Adams, Delena, Terri Jo and Kewana Lewis, Tamara Brown, Eugenia (William) Dozier, Fonda, Alesia and LaShawna Teague, and Ramona Parks, all of South Bend, and Valerie (Delton) Southern of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; nine brothers, Walter L.Teague Jr., and Garfield Hamilton, both of Seattle, Wash., John G.(Kecia) Lewis of Washington, D.C., Michael Wardlow and Darryl Teague, both of Indianapolis, Orlando, Lorenzo (Donna) and Dexter Teague, all of South Bend, and Timothy Brown of East St. Louis; a significant other, Bernice “Bonnie” Evans of Indianapolis; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Glendoria “Polly” Doxie will be held at noon on Friday, March 14, in Alford’s Mortuary. Friends may visit one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery.
