In Memory

Rebecca Ann (Donahue) Quiroz
January 5, 1952 ~ November 30, 2025
Rebecca Ann (Donahue) Quiroz, 73, of South Bend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Memorial Hospital.
Born January 5, 1952, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Richard B. and Charlotte V. (Wilson) Donahue, Rebecca moved with her family to the South Bend area, where she spent the rest of her life in Michiana. She attended South Bend Central High School and, on May 5, 1973, married the love of her life, Gregorio Quiroz, at St. Bavo Catholic Church in Mishawaka.
Rebecca worked for many years in retail, including Goldblatt's, Robertson's Department Store and L.S. Ayres. However, her greatest calling was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother—roles she wholeheartedly embraced. Rebecca found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved reading cookbooks and cooking for those she loved, as she was always planning the next meal. Music and dancing brought her joy. Having won dance contests with Greg Sr. at Cinnebar Nightclub, her family referred to her as the "Disco Queen." Above all, Rebecca gave herself fully and lovingly to her family, earning- through devotion, sacrifice, and humor- what her sons referred to as a "PhD in Motherhood."
She is survived by her loving husband, Gregorio Quiroz Sr.; three sons, Donald T. (Kayla) Quiroz of Michigan, Michael L. (Heather) Quiroz of South Bend, and Gregorio Quiroz Jr. of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and her beloved grandchildren Aaron, Issac, Gabby, Grayson, Claire, and Lauren, as well as great-grandchildren Carmen, Malakai, Enzo and Cassi. Rebecca is also survived by her sister, Kathleen (Donahue) Futa of South Bend. She now joins in rest her parents, her sister Patricia Sue (Donahue) Warr, her granddaughter Amanda Rae Stickler, and her grandson Darian Quiroz.
Honoring Rebecca's wishes, there will be no services at this time. Hanley and Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family and extends heartfelt sympathy to all who were touched by her radiant spirit.
Her love, laughter, and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity or to an organization that supports families and children, in honor of Rebecca's lifelong devotion to her own.
