Gordon Franklin Shriver

Retired M. Sgt. Gordon Shriver, 54, formerly of South Bend, died at 7:30 a.m. Friday in an El Paso, Texas, hospital of an apparent heart attack. He was born in South Bend on Sept. 10, 1917, and resided here until he entered military service in 1947.

He was attending the University of Texas in El Paso.

He is survived by widow, Alyce; four children, Mrs Sandra Wooten, of. Oklahoma, Mrs. Mary Alyce McVay, of Tennessee, and Debra, and John, both at home; three grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Shriver; three brothers, Glenn, Norman, and Lawrence, Bend; and Jack, of Mishawaka.

He will be buried in El Paso with full military honors at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
