G. Richard Morris

Oct. 28, 1938 - Feb. 23, 2005

G. Richard "Dick" Morris, 66, of Roger Street, South Bend, passed away of natural causes early Wednesday morning, February 23, in Memorial Hospital. Dick was born in South Bend on October 28, 1 938, to the late Gaylen and Vivian (Wilson) Morris. Dick graduated from South Bend Central High School and he served in the U.S. Navy.

In 1961 he married Janet Toth, who survives along with their six children. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Stephanie (Delbert) Montgomery and Jennifer Wright, both of South Bend; and four sons, Bill Morris of Atlanta, Georgia, Daniel (Mary) Morris, Richard Morris and Michael Morris, all of South Bend. Dick is also survived by a sister, Pat J. Freeman of St. Louis, Missouri; a brother, James L. Morris of Omaha, Nebraska; along with nine grandchildren.

In 1994 he married Rosanne Waddick, who survives along with three stepchildren, Kristin Borchers, Beth Borchers and Richard (Christina) Kasznia, and five step-grandchildren. Dick Morris, as he was known to those who knew him best, was employed as a painting contractor for over 45 years. He specialized in restoring historic homes.

Dick had many friends because of his quick wit and ability to tell a good story over a cup of coffee and a Pall Mall cigarette. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. For the past 15 years, Dick had been an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, lending a hand to those who needed him. He was a devoted friend, father and grandfather, and loving husband to his wife of 11 years, Rosanne.

A memorial service will be held in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, on Sunday, February 27, at 1 p.m. Friends may visit with the family just after the service. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Dick's daughter
