Avaline M. (Probst) McNamara
Oct. 8, 1900 - May 30, 1988
Avaline M. McNamara, 87, 409 E. Marshall St., Marion, died at 5 a.m. Monday in her home.
Born in South Bend, Mrs. McNamara had lived in Marion since 1930. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church and the Rosary Society of the church.
Her late husband, William, founded McNamara Service Inc. He died June 7, 1985.
She is survived by two sons, William "Bud", Marion, and Thomas, Bluffton; three daughters, Mrs. David (Margaret) Thornton, Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Kathleen Kester, Albuquerque, N.M., and Mrs. Caroline Zimmer, Bradenton, Fla.; a brother, John Probst, Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. John (Angela) McNamara, South Bend; 20 grandchildren; and 23 greatgrandchildren.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the St. Paul Catholic Church, 1031 Kem Road, Marion, with the Rev. Leo Haigerty officiating. Burial will be in the Marion IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday at the Raven Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the St. Paul Endowment Fund.
