Ruth (Matthews) Wiggins

April 17, 1903 - Feb. 2, 1993

SOUTH BEND - Ruth Wiggins 89, of 52624 Lynnewood Ave., died a 8:10 p.m. Tuesday in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal.

Mrs. Wiggin: was a school teacher in the former, Mount Pleasant Elementary School in South Bend. She was born April 17 1903, in South Bend, and was a life long area resident.

On June 6, 1925, in St. Joseph, as Ruth Matthews, she married Harry Wiggins. He died in 1989.

Surviving are three sons, Adrian and Leon, both of South Bend, and Noel of Chillicothe, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Matthews of Cincinnati.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. There will be no visitation Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N William St., is in charge of arrangements.
