Olive (Duncan) Merrick

Olive Duncan Merrick , 96, residing at the River Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Ind., died at 8:09 a.m. on Sunday, April 12.
Olive was born on April 12, 1902, in Harvey, Ill., to Vance and Rose (Dun) Duncan, who both preceded her in death. She had lived in South Bend for 85 years.
On July 14, 1923, in South Bend, Olive married Glen R. Merrick , who preceded her in death in 1939.
Olive is survived by one daughter, Mona (Wallace) Ferguson of Lansing, Ill.; one granddaughter, Lisa Ferguson of Chicago, Ill.; two nephews, Gale (Jan) Merrick of Elkhart, Ind., and Donn (Shirlee) Duncan of Saratoga, Calif.; one niece, Lila Merrick of South Bend; and by nine great nieces and nephews and many great great nieces and nephews.
Olive retired from Dun and Bradstreet in 1967 after 47 years of service. She had also been a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, South Bend.
Funeral services for Olive Duncan Merrick will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, with the Rev. Clyde Trumbaurer, Interim Pastor of Faith United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will take place in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.
