Phillip Ronald Ell

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly loved Dad, Phillip Ronald Ell, at the age of 92.

Dad passed away peacefully, at home, on November 26, 2025, surrounded by his daughters, Jennifer and Cathie. He was preceded in death by our loving mom, Virginia (Williams), in May 2016.

Dad was born and raised in Brazil, IN. He had a passion for flight, later earning his pilot's license. He earned his college degree from Indiana State University. He served in the army for 2 years after college. He married our sweet mom, Virginia, in 1958.

He spent his career in South Bend Schools first as a biology teacher at Central High School, then assistant principal at Jackson High School, then spending many years as principal of Clay High School. After retiring from teaching, he successfully sold real estate and established his own real estate school.

Dad was a wonderful father and family man. He was fun, witty, kind, caring, intelligent and lived his life for his family. We have a lifetime of wonderful memories from traveling, flying with him as our pilot, boating, laughing and spending time together in a happy, loving family that he created. We could not be more proud to be the daughters of Phillip Ronald Ell. We love you beyond words Dad.

There will be no service. If you happen to know Dad, we simply ask that you remember him with a smile.
