Charlotte Anderson

April 12, 1941 ~ September 15, 2024 (age 83)

Charlotte, affectionately known as, “Cha-Cha or Big Granny” was born to the union of Andrew and Catherine Anderson in South Bend, Indiana. She attended Linden Elementary School and Washington and Central High School, graduating in 1959. At the early age of five, Charlotte confessed her life to the Lord where she has been a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. She worked as a day laborer. She was also a licensed cosmetologist, having graduated from Helens Beauty College. She was an avid reader, and she also enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and music. But most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories, five daughters; Ranita Anderson, Terry (Andre) Baldwin, Cheryl Anderson, Geri (Bernard Foster) Anderson, all of South Bend, IN and Catherine Jordan of Atlanta, GA. Two sons; Darryl and Albert Anderson both of South Bend, IN. Two stepsons; David (Carolyn) Williams Jr and Dale (Bernastine) Williams, both of South Bend, IN. One sister; Winona Jones Northern of South Bend, IN. Three brothers; Freeman Smith and Andre Banks of South Bend, IN and Keelon (Ava) Hammond, of Fredericksburg, VA. One brother-in-law, Bruce Smith of San Antonio, TX. 18 grandchildren Tia Morgan, Dion Anderson (Rhonda Miller), Natasha Anderson, Keisha Baldwin (Maceo Neal), Samillia Williams, Crystal Baldwin (Christopher Marshall), Dana (Orlando) Sleepers, Terrance McKinnon, Marquita (Adrian) Anderson-Neily, Talise Briley (Brandon Giden), Tamara Bowens, Rachel Williams, Stephen Anderson, Ahmiah Grant-Anderson all of South Bend, IN, Nicolas (Tania) Anderson of Indianapolis, IN, Natishia Anderson of Nashville, TN, Darryl (Teshelle) Anderson, Jr. and Ranita Butler (Kimothy McGarity) both of Atlanta, GA. 46 Great Grandchildren and seven Great Great Grandchildren; a longtime friend, Ada B. Hamilton along with a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her fiancé, David Williams Sr; parents, Andrew Anderson and Catherine Anderson Terry; her maternal grandparents, Freeman and Nannie Smith; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Anna Anderson; two uncles, Lloyd Sr. and Jimmy D. Anderson; sister, Pamela K Smith; and special friends Carol Jones, and Verneal Leonard.

Celebration of life will take place on Saturday September 28, 2024 at 11AM with a viewing one-hour prior at Faith Apostolic Ministries 909 N. Bendix Dr. South Bend, IN 46628 with burial at Highland Cemetery to follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to www.boydandsonfuneralhome.com where condolences may be shared.
