Glen O. Strouss

July 17, 1911 - Sept. 21, 2005

Glen Omar Strouss, 94, residing in Crane Hill, AL, formerly of South Bend, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2005, in Cullman Regional Medical Center, Cullman, AL. He was born July 17, 1911, in Manlius, IL, to the late Amia Gordon and lona (Ewer) Strouss. Mr. Strouss lived most of his life in South Bend having attended Riley Grade School and South Bend Central High School. He retired from Bendix Aviation Corporation following 30 years of service. While in South Bend, he was a longtime member of Caroline Street Church of Christ. Since retirement and living in Crane Hill, he served the Church of Christ in Crane Hill for many years.

He is survived by his second wife, Dezzie (Bates) Strouss of Crane Hill, AL.

Also surviving are three daughters, Joan (H. William) Tubbs of South Bend, Eleanor Ritch of Mishawaka and Frances (Kenneth) Johnson of Trevor, Wl; and one son, Gene (Claudia) Strouss of Macon, GA. Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Vicki Ogletree of Cullman, and a stepson, Dale (Wanda) Bates of Alabama. He is also survived by a brother, Marlowe (Pauline) Strouss of Sebring, FL; 10 grandchildren, Dennis of South Bend, Lori, Christine, Amy, Bonnie and Tracy, all of Illinois, Scott of Ohio, Jeff of Fort Wayne, Lonnie of California, and Lisa and Barton, both of Birmingham, AL; six step-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Strouss was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Martin Tubbs and Sheryl Wappenstein; three sisters, Mary Ennenbaugh, Pearl Kline and Lila Morehouse; and two brothers, Merle Strouss and Oran Strouss.

Services were held on Saturday, September 24, in Moss Service Funeral Home.
