Ruthalice Jean Rieck, age 74, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026 in the evening at home. Her family was with her when the Lord came for her. She had an unexpected illness.
She was born November 19, 1951 to Robert G. and Betty Jane Rieck.
She attended LaSalle High School where she graduated in 1971. She attended Muessel Elementary School. She was a purchasing agent at Memorial Hospital for Surgery for 41 years. All while she took care of an ill father, mother and handicapped brother all with a young brother just growing into manhood. She was incredible and her family loved her. They have all experienced her love and caring. We all love the life we had with you. She loved life and the people she met along the way. She had an incredible companion dog, Molly which she had till her buddy past. She loved memories of all her friends. She never neglected or stopped helping people. Her heart of gold still beats in our memories. It will never stop. She is an example of love, respect and unquestionable faith.
Her devotional to God was with her as she spoke with him as called for her. His mighty hand lifted her up to heaven. Knowing her obedience to him and willing to do anything he asked when he came for her.
Everyone is gone except Paul and Susanjane and we will carry her in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
She is now back taking care of our family in heaven once again. If you look for her she will be in God’s garden with her mother tending God’s beautiful heavenly garden. We thank you Ruthalice for being with us through life and sharing your knowledge of all the wonderful things in our life. We are so proud of you and never will forget you. We miss you every day for the rest of our lives, all our love forever and always.
Susanjane and Paul XXOO. Without you our life would have been empty. We couldn’t have done any of it without your presence in our lives. God bless you and we will see you again and we will chat about all your new adventures.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 23 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 51490 Laurel Road, South Bend. Pastor’s Matthew Schiemann and Greg Fiechtner will officiate the service. She will be buried at Highland Cemetery at a later date.
