Fred Pruitt

Fred Douglas Pruitt

Feb. 27, 1953 – Jan. 30, 2006

Mr. Fred D.Pruitt Sr., 52, was born on Feb.27, 1953, to the union of Minor H. Pruitt and Ethel L. Pruitt (James) in South Bend, Indiana.

Fred accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a tender age. At the age of three years, Fred had the desire to become a musician. Through his talented father’s teaching and the anointing of our Lord, he became an awesome musician. He started his music career at Emanuel Deliverance C.O.G.I.C. under Pastor W.O. Coats Sr. Due to his God-given talent, Fred attended many churches as their Minister of Music. At the time of his home-going he attended Agape Missionary Baptist Church of Elkhart, Indiana.

On May 21, 1994, he was united in holy wedlock to Mary Louise Green. Fred and Louse knew each other for many years before they ever became Mr. and Mrs.Pruitt. Though they both had been previously married, it was the will of God that reacquainted and brought them together as husband and wife.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 12 years, Louise; two sons, Fred Jr. of South Bend and Timothy “G2” of Greensboro, N.C.; two daughters, Tarisha (Moreland) Boyd and Denise, both of South Bend; three stepdaughters, Denise (O.D.) Diggins and Kimberly Williams, both of South Bend, and Tanyell Williams of Indianapolis, Ind.; nine grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren; his mother, Ethel Pruitt of South Bend; five brothers, Carl Sr. (Sandra), Jerry, David Sr., Terrence (Jean) and Timothy, all of South Bend; a sister, Diane of Atlanta, Ga.; an aunt, Vera Brown; three uncles, Ike and Doe James of Hollysprings, Miss., and Henry (Quennie)
