Patricia Ann Deal (Pierpont) - Class Of 1944 VIEW PROFILE

Patricia Ann (Deal) Pierpont

Patricia Ann Pierpont, 96, passed away on Saturday March 25, 2023, at Raclin House Mishawaka.

Patricia was born on July 26, 1926, to Henry Deal and Clara Bergeron in South Bend, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Russell and Lawrence; sisters, Bernice Allen, Agnes Swartz and Gladys Dewald; as well as sisters-in-law, Hazel DuBree and Pauline Pierpont.

Her companion and the love of her life, George K. Pierpont passed away on May 23, 2009, after 63 years of blessed marriage. Patricia and George soon built a beautiful country home on Madeline Street in Niles and enjoyed entertaining their siblings, nieces and nephews for many years. Together they travelled and visited every state in the union except Alaska. Their travels took them through Canada, Mexico, Britain, Spain, Morocco and their photo slide shows were eagerly anticipated and enjoyed as they shared their adventures with family and friends upon returning. In their retirement years they enjoyed “wintering” in Apache Junction, Arizona.

Patricia attended St. Joseph Grade School and Central High School in South Bend before working at Simplicity Patterns in Niles, Michigan for 27 years, retiring in 1982.

Pat was an avid Notre Dame football and basketball fan, enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, craft sales, gardening, reading and watching her hummingbirds visit outside her window. She was a member of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed spending time with her charity group of friends (“Knit-Wits”) making baby blankets for the preemies who arrived at the local hospitals. She was a member of St. Bavo’s Catholic Church, Mishawaka, Indiana.

She leaves behind a brother-in-law, Darrell Pierpont; sister-in-law, Doris Miller (Pueblo Colorado); a multitude of nieces and nephews (and those who adopted her as their aunt); special friends, Lorraine Meixel and Kathy Coryn. Patricia left a wonderful legacy of quiet dignity, class and decency. Her kindness will be missed, and her memory cherished. She now has her final victory in Christ and for that we rejoice with her.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday March 29, from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street Mishawaka with a Rosary to be recited at 5:30 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday March 30, at 10:00 am in St. Bavo Catholic Church Mishawaka with Rev. Pete Pacini CSC and Rev. Jim Bracke CSC officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Granger.

The family request in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to either St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street Mishawaka or the Center for Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place Mishawaka, IN 46545.
