NORTH VERNON, IN - Cecilia Margaret "Sally" Wasowski, 91, of North Vernon, died at 8:43 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon. She lived in South Bend most of her life, and moved to North Vernon in 2000.

Mrs. Wasowski was a 1934 graduate of the former Central High School in South Bend and attended South Bend College of Commerce for secretarial studies.

She had worked in dress sales at Bonwit-Teller in Chicago for ten years, and also as a secretary at Oliver Tractor Corporation, Wilson Sewing Company and Wheel Horse Garden Tractors, all in South Bend. She enjoyed singing in church choirs, gardening, reading and traveling.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, at Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend. Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kaniewski Funeral Home in South Bend. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Valley Cemetery, Granger. Arrangements were made by Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon. Memorials may be made in care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home, 420 South State Street, North Vernon, IN 47265, or to the Jennings County Community Choir.

Born January 18, 1916, in South Bend, Mrs. Wasowski was the daughter of Stanley and Albina Kruzynski Radecki. Surviving are three sons, James Leon (Chris) Gierzynski of Niles, Michigan, Terrence Floyd (Sarah) Gierzynski of North Vernon and Philip John (Janice) Gierzynski of Riverside, Illinois; a stepson, the Rev. Ronald Wasowski of Portland, Oregon; a stepdaughter, Pat (Marion) Spychalski of South Bend; a brother, Anthony (Lucille) Radecki of South Bend; two sisters, Rita (Clem) Czyzewski of South Bend and Helen (Velmer) Potthast of Pocahontas, Illinois; three grandchildren, Eric Gierzynski of South Carolina, Patrick Gierzynski of Buchanan, Michigan, and Sherrie Schuh of New Jersey; two step-grandchildren, Christopher Spychalski and Michelle Spychalski, both of South Bend; and a great-grandchild, Sam Schuh of New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph Leon Gierzynski on April 12, 1954, John Rozek in 1972, and Leo Wasowski in 1985; a brother, Thomas A. Radecki; and three sisters, Harriet Radecki, Dorothy Wilczewski and Clara Galvaz.
