CAROL A. (BROADNAX) WASHINGTON

In Loving Memory
Ms. Carol Ann Washington, 74, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at her home in South Bend. She was surrounded by family and close friends.

Carol was born on July 8, 1948, in South Bend, Indiana to George and Jessie Broadnax. She was raised in the Church and knew the Lord Jesus as her savior. She was educated in the South Bend School System and graduated from the former Central High School.

Carol enjoyed hanging out with family and friends. She loved cooking; her favorite dishes were potato salad, wet burritos and her famous black forest cake She was a very colorful person who always wore bright colored makeup that matched her hair color and beautifully colored clothing that accented her beautiful and welcoming smile. She was the life of the party! She really loved helping others and helped everyone she could.

Carol leaves to cherish her loving memory, one daughter and son-in-law, Tameko and John Northern of South Bend; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Mary West of Mishawaka, Indiana; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; three special nieces, Shakesha, Nicole and Diamond; two sisters, Ora Gordon also of Mishawaka and Jessica Broadnax of South Bend; an aunt, Joanne Newhouse of South Bend along with many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by an aunt, Vanilla Dixon; her grandparents Viola and James Washington; her parents George and Jessie Broadnax; two sisters, Mary Joe Broadnax and Betty Broadnax; an aunt, Geridina; and four children, Heath West, Tabatha West, Kesha Broadnax and Tawanda Hoskins.
Sleep on dear Carol and take your rest. Although we all loved you, God loved you best.
