SOUTH BEND - Jeanne A. Troyer, 82, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 7:56 a.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN. She was born on April 11, 1930, to the late Clarence and Marquerite (Vary) Waters in New Troy, MI. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Troyer; one son, Michael Robert Troyer; three sisters, Justina Pietrzak, Margie Walker and Helen Lane; two brothers, Bob and Thomas Waters; a niece, Ava Davenport; and her nephew, Robert Names.

Jeanne was a graduate of South Bend Central High School.

On October 7, 1955, as Jeanne A. Waters, she married Ralph G. Troyer at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in South Bend, IN. He died on May 13, 1983.

She is survived by three daughters, Gema Troyer, Gina Troyer and Tracy (Robert Tipton) Troyer, all of South Bend, IN; eight grandchildren, Nicole Troyer, Joshua (Michelle Tucker) Troyer, Brittnea (Erica Ampy) Troyer, and Dianna, Michael Jr., Bryan, Jason and Makayla Troyer; six great-grandchildren, Justin Hall Jr. and Cordell Hall, Jessica, Jennifer, Sabrina and Savannah Troyer; two sisters, L. Marie Hosford of South Bend, IN, and Eileen Names of South Bend, IN; one brother, Archie Ryan; a special friend, Debbie Skaggs of Kentucky; and several nieces & nephews.

Jeanne was an artist, and especially enjoyed oil painting. She also loved to entertain and cook for her family and friends. Jeanne was an expert on current events and shared her knowledge of current events with anyone who would listen to her. She was a handywoman and an experienced carpenter who was known as "Jeanne the Builder" by her family.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2012, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, IN. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
