ANNETTE M. (SLAKE) SODERSTROM
DANVILLE – Annette Marilyn Soderstrom, 70, of Danville died at 5:51 a.m. Feb. 17, 2007, at her home. A funeral Mass will be at noon Tuesday, Feb. 20, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1303 N. Walnut, Danville, IL 61832, with the Rev. Greg Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville, IL 61832. Memorials may be made to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 965, Danville, IL 61832; or St. Paul's Catholic Grade School. Burial will be in Gordon Cemetery, Danville.
Annette was born March 9, 1936, in South Bend, Ind., to Edmund Clement and Lucille Patricia VanOverwalle Slake. She attended Holy Cross grade school and Central High School in South Bend, Ind. She also attended DACC in Danville. She had worked for Magna Data in Champaign, and she was the administrative assistant at the Laurel School of Dance for her daughter until retiring in November 2006. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening, cooking and her beloved cat "Muffy." She was dedicated to her family, children and grandchildren.
Annette married Robert Bernard Soderstrom on July 13, 1961, in Michigan City, Ind., and he preceded her on March 5, 1993. Survivors include a son, Ron (Ann McCurdy) Soderstrom; a daughter, Laurel Soderstrom; four grandchildren, Robbie, Ronnie, Ryan and Ricky Soderstrom; a special niece, Jan (Bob) Hooten; and a special nephew, Ed (Gayle) Beach. She was preceded by her parents, her husband, Bob, and a sister, Juanita Beach. Guest register is at www.papemortuary.com.
