MARGIE (CHARTIER) SHENENBERGER

SOUTH BEND - Margie Shenenberger, 87, lifelong resident of South Bend, passed away at 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 31, 1925 in South Bend to the late George and Emma (Guin) Chartier.

She attended South Bend Central High School.

On September 5, 1942, in South Bend, she married Duane Shenenberger, who preceded her in death on July 17, 1992.

Margie was a waitress for 50 years, working at The Loft, Nick's Patio, Dixie Creme Donut Shop, and retiring in 1987 from Morris Inn, University of Notre Dame.

Margie is survived by her four daughters, Linda L. (Dwight) Zimmerman and Pam J. (Tony) Horvath, both of South Bend, Diane S. Jester and Michele A. (Jeffrey) Horvath, both of Mishawaka; nine grandchildren, Douglas (Jean) Zimmerman of Mishawaka, Daniel Zimmerman of Phoenix, AZ, Jason Jorgensen of Niles, Jamie Jester of Mishawaka, Justin Jester of Mishawaka, Adam (Heather) Horvath of Elkhart, Shawn Horvath of Mishawaka, Michael Horvath of Mishawaka, and Joshua Horvath of Mishawaka; and seven great-grandchildren, Taryn, Drew, Ashley, Christopher, Jonathan, Gabriel, and Jameria.

One sister, Geraldine Chartier and two brothers, Jack Chartier and Robert Chartier all preceded Margie in death.

Margie was one of the greatest ladies in the whole wide world. She was a wonderful mother and a friend to all. The family wished to express their appreciation to the staff at the Center for Hospice Care, Dr. Bao and the Staff at Memorial Hospital for their wonderful compassion and care.

Private services will be held at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South Bend and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
