BETTY H. (HAYN) SARACENO

BETTY H. "RUSTIE" SARACENO, 84, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born in South Bend, she was the daughter of the late Hulda L. Carlson and Carl F. Hayn Sr.

She attended South Bend Central High School and moved to Fort Wayne in 1947. She was employed at Lincoln National Life Insurance Co. and Ballastran Corp. before retiring from Magnavox Company in 1988 after 23 years.

She is survived by sons, Steven M. (Carol) Kennedy and Scott A. Kennedy, both of Fort Wayne; daughters, Carolyn J. ("CJ") Woodring of Fort Wayne and Kathleen L. Ranly of Columbia City; grandchildren, Jeffrey J. (Laura) Gielow of Portland, Maine, Christopher S. (Pam) Gielow, Chad C. Gielow, Sean M. (Abbey) Kennedy and Heather Kennedy, all of Fort Wayne, and Athena Kennedy of Georgia; nine great-grandchildren; aunt, Ellen Fiesenheiser of Dunedin, Fla.; niece, Carla K. Hayn, Ph.D. of Los Angeles, Calif.; friends, Vicki Taylor of Florida, Lou Ann Ludwiski and Lee Roos, both of Fort Wayne; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by brother, Carl F. Hayn Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla.

A Celebration of Life is from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St. Memorial donations to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
