She graduated from Indiana State University in 1947 with a Bachelor's degree in education. Here is where she met her husband of 58 years Richard M. Rembold Sr. They were married on June 12, 1947. Marcheta (Marky) is survived by her husband, two daughters, Carole A.(Jesse) Chmiel of South Bend, and Kim P. She is also survived by her 101 year old mother Nettie Hemenway of Boonville, Indiana and a sister Elmabeth Evans of Omaha, Nebraska along with many nieces and nephews.

Marky was preceded in death by her father and one great-granddaughter.

For a number of years she was volunteer coordinator of the International Hospitality Program for foreign students at Notre Dame University and Saint Mary's College. She and her family personally hosted many of these students whom she considered to be an extension of her own family. Her affiliation with this program eventually lead to a 1972 tour of South America. To this day, Marky and her family have continued to maintain a close relationship with one of her host students Jaime Colmenares and his wife Lyda of Cali, Columbia South America. She was godmother to their first child, Carol who was named after Marky's first child. The Colmenares children lovingly referred to her as Mama Marky.

During her teaching career, she taught school in Staunton, New Albany, Indianapolis and South Bend, Indiana including the former Central Jr./ Sr. High School.

After retiring from teaching , she then spent 14 years with Real Services of South Bend where she coordinated lunch and activity programs for the elderly until 1994. Marky was one of the founders of the Corvilla Auxillary which provides volunteer assistance to the staff and residents of Corvilla's Homes With A Heart. She and her husband spent winters in Tucson, Arizona for 8 years until 2004. There, in the true nature of Marky, is where she formed many new friendships and started a women's discussion group. Marky loved travel, music and dance, and garage saling. She had a zest for life and a genuine love for all people and was truly loved in return.
