MARIETTA K. (DERUYCK) PENNELL

SOUTH BEND - Marietta K. Pennell, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2007, in Healthwin Specialized Care Facility, South Bend. She was born on October 13, 1920, in Hammond, IN, to Arthur Schetron and Laura DeRuyck. She was raised by her mother and beloved grandmother, Jeanette. On February 21, 1948, in Berrien Springs, MI, she married John R. Pennell, who survives. Along with her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Sharon L. Miller of South Bend; three sons, Richard B. (Raeann) of Fredericktown, MO, and Joseph F. (Val) and Thomas W. (Ronda), both of South Bend; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Terry L. of Milwaukee, WI.

She attended Central High School and was employed at Ball Band, South Bend Bait and Tackle, and retired from Schaffer Gear Works after 15 years of service. She loved to knit, crochet and do needlework. She was also an avid reader. Her family was her greatest joy.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Monday, October 15, 2007, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. A private memorial service for Marietta will be held at a later date. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. South Bend.
