ALFRED E. "AL" MORRIE

Apr. 22, 1930 - June 13, 2013
NEW CARLISLE - Al was born to Alfred Morrie and Anna (Aimone) Morrie on April 22, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clarence Morrie. On June 19, 1953, at Olive Chapel Church in New Carlisle, IN, Al married Dorthy E. Barker. Surviving Al is his wife of 60 years; two daughters, Julie (Tom) Rager of South Bend, IN & Maurine Avery of LaPorte, IN; and a son, Brad (Debbie Mrozinski) Morrie of New Carlisle, IN; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, & 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Al graduated in 1947 from South Bend Central High School. Al was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps after having served in the Korean War.

Al retired from Clark Equipment in Buchanan, MI. He was a member of the Masons Terre Coupe Lodge #204, F&AM, a life member of the Scottish Right, South Bend Valley, a life member of the American Legion Post 297, New Carlisle, IN, a life member of the VFW Post 9423, Rolling Prairie, IN, and a very dedicated member of the NRA. Al lived a life full of joy. He found joy in his family. He valued his family above all and was an inspiring example of what it means to be a good husband, father, and mentor. He was a faith filled man and led his family with integrity, great confidence in giving. He shared his love for hunting, fishing, golf, gardening and was an avid reader. Al chose to be cremated and not to have visitation or services, but would request any donations be made to the charity of your choice.
