Betty June (Dorsch) Lord passed away of natural causes at Regency Place of South Bend on Friday January 9, 2009.

She was born in South Bend and was a life long area resident. She is survived by a brother Robert (Joann) Dorsch also of South Bend and several nieces and nephews.

On August 13, 1945 she married Noel E. Lord, who preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Frankie Dorsch and one sister Diana Brunson also of South Bend.

Betty graduated from Central High School in South Bend and was a student of ballet, tap dance and acrobat since she was five years old, eventually graduating from McDermit Conservatory in Elkhart.

In 1948 she opened the Lord and Lord School of Dance in South Bend. She taught ballet, toe tap and acrobat at this school and a school in Elkhart for many years.

She made many television commercials and on stage appearances from 1948 and into the late seventies.

Betty loved animals, especially dogs and horses. She owned a number of French Poodles.

Visitation is from 10am to 11am Tuesday January 13, 2009 in the Bubb Funeral Chapel 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka. A Catholic Committal service will follow in the Notre Dame All Souls Chapel at Cedar Grove Cemetery at 11:30am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, Indiana 46637.
